KESSHO
My name is Hui Yu, and I am the General Manager of Kesshō LLC as well as a chocolatier. I am also a Level 2 Certified Chocolate Taster recognized by the International Chocolate Alliance. Since Kesshō was founded, I have been deeply involved in building the brand. Our owner Liang was born and raised in Beijing, Liang honed her skills in pastry and chocolate-making in Tokyo.The other owner, Mark, is an American who lived in China for 14 years.
KESSHŌ is a Japanese word meaning “Crystal,” a tribute to the crystalline structure of chocolate. Founded in Shanghai in 2019 and relocated to Austin, TX in 2022, Kesshō specializes in Asian-inspired craft chocolate, gelato, and baked goods.
We have won multiple international chocolate awards, including ICA and AOC. Our chocolate is crafted from carefully selected cacao beans from Tanzania, Ecuador, and Uganda, which we roast, grind, and temper in-house in our Austin kitchen. We also incorporate locally sourced ingredients, such as fresh milk from nearby Austin farms, into our gelato.
Currently, we operate two food trailers in Austin, bringing our handcrafted products directly to the community.
