This Fair will be held outdoors, rain or shine!

Please note that parking is extremely limited in the area and is not guaranteed. Pay close attention to no parking and permit only signs throughout the neighborhood, as your car might be towed if you are parked illegally. We strongly encourage sharing rides, getting dropped off, using public transportation or taxis as transportation to the Fair.

The Division and Damen Blue Line L stops are both within walking distance of the Fair.

Leashed pets and service animals are welcome to join in on the fun!

LOAD-IN/OUT

Load-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. Each group will be given 30 minutes to load into booth spaces, and will have until 11:00 a.m. to set-up. The following are your group assignments. Please note that if you arrive earlier than your load-in time, you will not be allowed to load-in and begin setting up. Please remember that the public will be encouraged to begin shopping promptly at 11:00 a.m. each day.

Group 1 / 7:30– 8 a.m.: Booths 1-49, 294-342, A-H*, F1-F5*, and any other trucks or trailers*
Group 2 / 8–8:30 a.m.: Booths 50-123, and 220-293
Group 3 / 8:30– 9 a.m.: Booths 124-219

* Participants not setting up on Division Street should approach their respective footprints from the streets on which they are located.  Please note which side of Division you are located (north or south), as crossing Division to reach your destination will not be an option for load-in or load-out.

Vendors will be able to drive their vehicles on to Division Street from Ashland Avenue, unload at their booth, and exit to the west on Division Street towards Damen Avenue. Booth numbers will be marked in chalk on the ground for you upon arrival. You must enter the site at Division Street and Marshfield Avenue on the appropriate side of the street based on your booth’s location on the street (north – Booths 1 through 171; and south – Booths 172 through 342). Please note that if you arrive earlier than your load-in time, you will not be permitted to enter the site and will be asked to pull away until your time. All cars must exit Division Street by 9:30 a.m. This will be strictly enforced by our team.

Whenever possible, we suggest taking the first parking space you can find nearest to Division Street and using a hand truck or cart to load in from there to avoid the congestion within the site plan. There will be staff on-hand to help facilitate load-in. We will have a limited number of hand trucks available to use, and will require a photo I.D. as collateral.

Please note that vendors that arrive late or load in after their assigned time without notifying the Rc team may have their booth and rentals forfeited at the event start time. Vendors are also not permitted to spread out into empty booths outside of their assigned booth footprint.

Please note that if you have rented tables, chairs, or clothing racks through Rc you will need to pick them up from one of the three rental depots. You may not collect them from any other depot other than the one that is assigned to you. Rentals will be available during load-in. Please return them to any one of the three rental depots when loading out on Sunday evening. Those who have rented tents will find them already set-up and weighted by the rental company prior to your arrival.

In order to retrieve rentals including tables, chairs, and clothing racks, you will need to stop at your assigned rental depot along the site-plan. Please look for your assignment below. We will not have extra inventory at the various rental depots, so be sure to report to the correct one. We will have staff on-hand to check you off upon collection. Please return your rental items to the nearest depot at the end of the fair.

  • Booths Booths 1-49 / 294-342 »» WEST Depot on the southwest corner of Winchester and Division
  • Booths 50-123 / 220-293 / letters A-H / any food vendors »» CENTER Depot on the southwest corner of Honore and Division
  • Booths 124-219 / »» EAST Depot on the southwest corner of Hermitage and Division

Note: If you are providing your own tent, each leg MUST be weighted with at least 25 lbs. Any vendor utilizing a tent that is not properly weighted will not be permitted to participate in the Fair until the tent has the correct amount of weight on each leg. We suggest purchasing tent weights prior to the Fair from any of the following resources: E-Z UP and Shelter Logic.

While there will be security onsite overnight, given the volume of foot traffic within the area, we strongly encourage you to take your merchandise and anything valuable with you for the night. If you choose to leave your displays, merchandise, etc. in place, please note that anything you leave overnight is done so at your own risk. The venue and Renegade Craft are not responsible for any damages or theft that may occur.

Breakdown begins at 7:00 p.m. on both days and cars will not be allowed on Division until after 7:00 p.m. Please do not pack up early! Load-out will happen the same way as load-in. Please help us make this a smooth and easy load-out by packing up your booth prior to loading out. Due to the high traffic nature of the area, we encourage vendors to hand-cart or carry your items back to your vehicle at the end of the event. If you do need to bring your car around, please have absolutely everything packed and ready to go and be ready to wait until the Fair site is mostly clear. Traffic directors will be stationed at Marshfield for vehicles pulling onto Division for load-out and will restrict access until the street is reasonably clear and safe for vehicles to drive through.

Vendors are responsible for disposing of their own trash at the end of the night! PLEASE, DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND!

SET UP + SALES

We encourage you to accept credit cards and cash at the Fair. Many mobile card readers now provide offline mode capabilities for your device or tablet, which allows you to accept swiped card payments when Internet service or your connection is giving you trouble.

If you are using a processing device without WiFi, still keep in mind that the network sometimes gets a little crowded. If you’re having trouble, we recommend taking down the customer’s credit card information/telephone number and running the charge later when you have a stable connection.

Your booth display is entirely up to you, and we encourage you to make your set-up just as creative as the goods you are selling.

If you have chosen a shared booth option please be sure to reach out to your booth partner to discuss how to best orient your booth for the best display.

Depending on which size booth you applied for, your footprint at the Fair measures 5’ x 10’ for a shared booth, 10’ x 10’ for a full booth, or 10’ x 20’ for a double booth. If you signed up for the mobile option, your setup should be no larger than 5’ x 10’ and should be maneuverable throughout the venue.

If you signed up for a shared booth, we will email an introduction to your boothmate soon. Make sure to contact and coordinate with your partner on your booth setup and rental needs. Please note that shared booths are oriented with the shortest side facing the aisle, so please plan your booth accordingly.

EXCELLING AT THE FAIR

It’s an exciting experience to come out of the studio and into a vibrant marketplace, so we’ve come up with a few tips that can help you make the most of your participation.

Business cards, buttons, postcards, catalogs, and other promotional materials are a great way to start the conversation with your potential buyers.

Include a mailing list sign-up at your booth, with signage to let folks know how to get in touch with you after the Fair, or how to follow you on social media.

Let buyers know that your business name and link to your website is also on the Renegade Craft website, in case they lose your information. Renegade reserves the right to select roster images and photos provided by the links submitted in your Participation Application. Once our Roster is live, please check your business name and link are accurate.

Give a smile, say hello, tell attendees about your products, offer samples, and make a connection! People might be put off if you’re on your phone or iPad, so keep that in mind when trying to make the most of your participation.

Most people’s priority is to sell their work at the Fair, but also remember your work is being seen by thousands of attendees. This is your chance to make a lasting impression on a large audience, which could lead to future online sales, wholesale orders, editorial features, and other amazing opportunities.

We suggest bringing plenty of water, coffee, and snacks with you to keep you energized throughout the Fair. It is also helpful to bring a friend along to help run your booth and hold down fort so you can take a couple of breaks throughout the day.

State of Illinois Special Event Tax Collection

All exhibitors making sales in Illinois are required to report and pay all tax due based on their total receipts within ten (10) days of the close of the exhibit. The current tax rate for the location of the special event is printed on the coupon to assist you in calculating your tax due.
