MIRAFLORES STUDIOS
I started my journey in embroidery and design in 2017, launching my first business, Sweet Chainstitch, from my bedroom. With a background in retail and customer service—including three years at Levi’s Tailor Shop—I built my brand from the ground up, using just an embroidery machine and a phone. Over time, I refined my craft, blending custom chainstitch embroidery with vintage upcycling to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
In 2022, I opened MiraFlores Studios, named after my hometown, as a creative workspace where I design, cut, and sew original pieces. The studio is where my team and I create one-of-a-kind garments, upcycled vintage pieces, and custom embroidered work. Some of our pieces are entirely handmade in Oakland, while others are produced in Peru, where I’m from, and customized once they arrive.
Separate from the studio, MiraFlores Shop is my storefront inside Temescal Alley, which operates as a tailor shop and retail space. There, I offer denim repairs, tailoring, and chainstitch embroidery, while also showcasing work from independent designers and vintage sellers. The shop is a hub for personalization and craftsmanship, while the studio is where I focus on creating new designs and handmade pieces.
What I’m bringing to this market comes directly from the studio—a collection of unique, handmade, and upcycled designs that reflect my passion for sustainability and craftsmanship.
