Browsing Nell & Mary’s website for this blog entry was like biting into a perfectly ripe peach. Everything about it is pretty much perfect. It’s easy to navigate, the work is photographed beautifully and is displayed elegantly along with fruits, veggies, pets, and what looks to be sort of a dream home. The work itself is striking, subtly trendy, but still has something about it that’s all their own.
Such an important thing that we see missed, when looking over the thousands of RCF applications we see each year is great, not good, but GREAT photos. As you can see below Nell & Mary know how to do it right.
Morels Tea Towel + really nice looking radishes
Tea Towels displayed on a rack + miscellaneous fruits and veggies
Patagonia Placemat Set + delicious looking carrots
Stack of hand printed/sewn pillows + very cute dog
Every piece in the line is cut, sewn and screenprinted in their studio/micro-factory in Portland, Oregon. They source materials which are “rescued” (deadstock) or organic, and screenprint with water based inks.
Don’t miss them at the 10th Annual Renegade Craft Fair Chicago! It’s less than a month away. Phew!
