at Brooklyn Expo Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 25, 2016

Renegade Craft Fair returns to Brooklyn May 20−22 at the Brooklyn Expo Center. The Fair’s Wholesale Market, open only to industry buyers, will be held Friday, May 20, from 12 to 7 p.m. The Spring Fair, which is free and open to the public, will be held May 21−22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  This event features a lively array of modern makers, hands-on workshops, food and drink, music, and more. More than 225 artisan businesses will show off the freshest trends in the handmade marketplace, from clothing and accessories to home decor, furniture, apothecary, and specialty items.

This year’s Fair is sponsored in part by Time Out New York, who will be raffling off a goodie bag full of handmade products from the Fair’s makers. Online marketplace SKUE will be on site at the Wholesale Market, providing an insider’s view into the boutique wholesale experience. Looking to try some DIY? Woodcut Maps invites attendees to a woodcutting workshop to make their own New York map trivets. Then pick up free treats and fresh spring cleaning tips from the Martha Stewart Living “Good Things” stand.

Hungry visitors will find plenty to eat from local food and drink purveyors. Enjoy a weekend of fun beats laid down by DJ Sugartown Industries while you line up at the food trucks. Savor frozen confections from Van Leeuwin Ice Cream and Coolhaus and Belgian waffles from Wafels & Dinges. And don’t leave without sampling the wares from food stands, including fresh coffee from Cafe Grumpy, mocktails from The Hudson Standard, sweet and savory crêpes and macarons from La Crêpe C’est Si Bon, and fresh and fruity lemonades from Renegade Lemonade. Want to take a taste of the Fair home? Vendors will be offering plentiful pre-packaged goodies, including teas, cocktail syrups and bitters, and French calissons.

Getting There: The Fair will be indoors at the Brooklyn Expo Center, located at 72 Noble St. Plan your route to the Fair here. Visitors are encouraged to walk, bike, or take public transportation to the Fair. The Greenpoint Ave. G Train MTA stop and the East River Ferry are both nearby the venue. Pets are not permitted at this event.

The Renegade Craft Fair is a highly curated showcase of the very best in modern craft and design. RCF is the largest independent craft fair in the world, attracting more than 300,000 attendees annually across multiple fairs in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Austin, Portland, Seattle, and London. Its mission is to create a vibrant and lively atmosphere that both reflects and illuminates the work of today’s modern makers. One part entrepreneurial incubator and one part community gathering space, it culminates in a festive celebration of DIY. RCF’s Wholesale Markets reinvent the wholesale buying and selling experience. Many of our emerging designers can’t be found at other trade shows, and the atmosphere will feel relaxed, festive, and lively— staying in line with the vibe we create at all RCF events.
